A great drawing in the book can achieve a great book

For nearly every book, there would be some drawings on the cover of the book, or maybe inside the book. The drawing may be not that delicate, but it always really important for readers to understand and to be attract by the book. Hunger games could be a great example of it.

There are three sessions in the Hunger Games, Hunger Game, Catching Fire and Mockingjay. For each session, it has a different but really similar cover page with a mockingjay in different forms. For the Hunger Games, it’s a mockingjay brooch that has the bird’s head down and with a burning arrow. For Catching Fire, it’s a mockingjay brooch with the mockingjay that seems slightly stretched. Lastly, for Mockingjay, it shows a mockingjay brooch with mockingjay blooming at all. All of these covers imply the moving of the plot and also are really important parts to attract readers.

For the first book, the Hunger Game, the Mockingjay imply the main character Katniss Everdeen and the arrow is what she really good at. At that time, she is just a girl that’s really shy and doesn’t well at showing herself. Even though she is clever and brave, she still needs to listen and obey the rules that the government has at that time. She doesn’t grow up yet and doesn’t have lots of experience. Also, because of everyone calls her, the girl on fire, the brooch on the cover is on fire. Then, it implies the story happened on the first session of the book, for the win because of the arrow and the shy girl, who hides her beauty and ability, is a girl on fire.

On the other hand, the second book, Catching Fire, Katniss was more mature to meet some big troubles to fix. She starts to know how to show herself and starts to think as an out-standing woman, the winner of the 74^th Hunger Game. Then, everybody knows her graceful manner. But she still lost something, and she cannot be a true leader to lead the people in district 13, so the mockingjay was not really blooming. Also, according to the book, the war is not truly starting, so, everything seems like they were poised, everything seems explosive. As a result, the brooch in the cover shows a bird seems want to fly and nearly fly. Katniss, who is the main character, is going to fly to her glory of the life.

After that, Mockingjay, with the brooch that has a flying, noble bird, makes all the lasting events start, the war between the government, the best and the worst part of Katniss’s life and the ending of the book. This is the last book of Hunger Games and this is also the best one. The bird with the attitude of flying makes all the readers’ blood burning. It made more and more people are being attracted and made more and more people to view the legend of The Hunger Games. The cover of this book make the book ends successfully.

Admittedly, the pictures in the book are absolutely important that it has the closest relation ship with the plot and the main character of the book. So, a good drawing in the book and even make the book better.

My reading life

Reading books is my biggest interest. If I only have a minute free time, I would use it to read. I’m a fast reader and I have good memory, so if I saw some sentence that really moves me, I would try my best to recite it and thinks about the deep meaning of it when I’m free. I think a good book can be remembered for forever. So, I read, only because I love reading and I can think deeply that no one would interrupt me and no one would disagree with that. When I read, I’m in my own world that nobody can enter.

I love reading all kind of books especially fiction books. Harry Potter and Hunger games are my favorite in this kind of book. Harry Potter is about a magic world and Hunger game is talking about the world that many years later. It’s like it’s based on the real world but different from the real world. Thus, everything could happen, nothing is impossible for people. It’s normal that people don’t believe there’s magic in the real world, but everyone think it’s possible for something happen in the world of books.

On the other hand, the author I love the most is Jane Austen. The book I like the most that’s written by her is Pride and Prejudice. It’s just a love story but shows what happen in that place that time. That’s a real world, but the main characters still left his or her arrogant personality. They get together lastly, I love the descriptions that Jane Austen wrote, it makes me get in to that world and it makes me feel I’m the main character. That’s so beautiful and I can never forget that.

Lastly, I love to read using by mobile phone because it’s convenient to bring and I can read it anywhere. Additionally, if I don’t read at night, I cannot go to sleep. So, that’s my reading life, which make my life much more colorful.

who am I and what am doing in this course

The first song I choose is Michael Jackson’s “you are not alone”. (http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/michaeljackson/youarenotalone.html) I like it, because I’m a girl that always feels I’m alone and I am really afraid of being alone. So, the song told us there’s still somebody with us. Also, I have friends and I have lots of people that I love and love me. Thus, I know I’m not alone and I don’t need to be afraid. Like in the lyrics, it says “in the morning, in the evening, not alone, not alone, you and me, not alone.” It’s true that I came to America by myself so I miss my hometown and I miss my family in China, but I found new friends and found there are many great people. Then, I’m not alone anymore.

On the other hand, I also like Michael Jackson’s “we are the world”. (http://www.songlyrics.com/michael-jackson/we-are-the-world-lyrics/) It’s a song that gives people lots of hope. From the song, it says, “we are the world, we are the children, we are the one to make a brighter day”. It’s like we are the hope of the world, it tells us everyone is important. Then, it’s like we all have responsibility to the world, we have things that we need to do. We will make a brighter day, and that’s why I need to be myself and I need to do something for the world. It doesn’t matter what I will do is big or small, but I need to do something. I should be hardworking, because I need to do something for making a brighter world. So, it also motivates me to work hard and to be a better person.

Thirdly, I want to talk about Miley Cyrus’ “The climb”. (http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/mileycyrus/theclimb.html) It tells people a positive attitude for doing things. It’s like when I’m climbing a high mountain; I always want to give up because that’s a really long distance and difficult to stick out. But lastly, I would still tell me that I’m nearly arriving and still climbing the mountain. Then after a long distance, I would lastly arrive at the top. And I would love the scene on the top of the mountain. Then, it’s like all the pay out during this process is worth. “Sometimes might knock me down, but No I'm not breaking I may not know it, but these are the moments that I'm gonna remember most, yeah Just gotta keep goin”. The song is just talk about this. So I really need to never give up. When you reach what you want to reach, you cannot imagine how great that is.

Lastly, for the academic goals I want to gain this year are, I want to get an A in this class, I want to improve my grammar, and I want to learn the American way to think and write.

Seize the day

In its sweet release,

I like this sentence in the poem because sometimes I can really feel this when I go to sleep. I would always think a lot before I go to sleep and found a different myself that others don't know.

What makes a positive effective classroom community?

To make a positive and effective classroom community, people need to be respectful to each other. It' because when people act respectfully, we can listen to each other and learn from each other. On the other hand, people need to have good team work. During teamwork, people can share their different ideas, and know variety information. Then, people should be open minded instead of just think in one point. So, people can meet a new and widely world. Also, people need to follow the rules. When everybody in the classroom follow the room, it would be it great condition to study. Last but not least, people need to have a good attitude to face to the school day everyday.
